Los Angeles voters appear to have passed the “homeless assistance” tax, Measure H, on Tuesday.
As I warned earlier, this increase in sales tax hurts the working poor the most. You can read my analysis HERE.
Well it looks like the REAL goal of the tax is now coming out. Originally the sales tax increase was to help with mental health care for the homeless. The reporting now says ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about mental healthcare.
The Los Angles Times (the LA TASS, for the komrades of the city) reports that the money from the tax will be used as follows, “The new sales tax revenue would pay for services attached to those units and provide rental subsidies and services for thousands more units across the county”. You can read a copy of the LA TASS article HERE.
Anyone see mental health in that statement?
Okay, so the working poor, which makes up the majority of the LA populace is subsidizing those who don’t work. What an excellent plan!
The rich, vote to steal from the poor to give to the poorer. Makes the rich feel good about living in their mansions with BIG F’ING WALLS around them.
As one commentator said, the rich want the poor and illegals cleaning their houses and serving their food, but they NEVER want to invite them in or have them as friends. They might even throw a few shekels at them and say some pleasantries, but that’s about as far as it goes. Ever see low income housing or a homeless encampment in Brentwood, Beverly Hills, or Bel Air?
Nuff said.
