This weekend Senator Ted Cruz and his wife were mobbed and shouted out of a restaurant, by crazed leftists because of his support for Judge Kavanaugh.
I heard a leftist apologist who was defending those who would harass Republicans “where they eat, where they live, and where they sleep” until they comply with the will of the left. This nutty leftist defender of the “moral high ground” said that our country has a long history of protest. In her justification, she pointed out the Boston Tea Party as an example of American protest.
Do these crazed people realized what they are advocating?
Turning back to the history books, the Boston Tea Party was a protest against another country (England) exempting taxes for the British East India Tea Company, on sales of tea in America. This tax exemption would allow the British East India Tea Company to undercut other merchants and allow them to monopolize the industry. The Sons of Liberty boarded the British East India ships and tossed the cargo of tea into Boston harbor. The British retaliated to this “American protest”.
What ended up happening? That would be the Revolutionary War,
What was the death toll?
36,000 Americans deaths, 24,000 British deaths.
That would be about 1.4% of the American population at the time and 0.3% of the British in America, killed during the war.
If we look at today’s United Stated population that would be the equivalent of more than 5.6 MILLION PEOPLE KILLED.
I guess to the left MILLIONS KILLED is just a little collateral damage in order to stop President Trump “by any means necessary“.
